Brazil Study Abroad, Take 2

I originally created this blog space to provide resources and chronicle my course Race, Gender, and Inequality in Brazil scheduled to go to Brazil May of 2020. Well, some stuff happened in March of 2020, and that trip got canceled. Two years later, we are a week away from finally taking a plane to Brazil!

My students have been learning a lot about racial issues in Brazil, gender dynamics and LGBTQ rights, social inequalities, and other stuff. We spent the last two summers discussing these issues, while they learned a little bit about ethnography and interviews. Next week, we fly To Salvador, Bahia to spend three weeks in the state. I decided to revive this space to share the blog posts students will create while in Brazil. The stuff I posted back in 2019 and 2020 is still helpful, only now we are about to see if Bolsonaro will get re-elected, and we are still battling COVID-19.

Be on the lookout for some great posts from my students and some occasional comments from me!
